Christian Temple is an Open and Affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Catonsville, Maryland. For us, this means that we cherish all God's children and  welcome everyone to Christ's table of grace as we ourselves have been welcomed. We are especially intent on deepening our congregational welcome to anyone for whom the church has not felt like a safe place. 

Our community of faith welcomes all people including members of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals ranging widely in age, physical and mental abilities, family and economic situations, marital status, gender, skin color, ethnicity, and political convictions.

Christian Temple is an active part of the Catonsville community. Our members live throughout the wider Baltimore region. We would like to revitalize and develop the youth and Christian education programs that invite new youth into the church. We would like to continue to cultivate our relationships with the community through outreach, programming, and fellowship.

We are seeking a candidate who has standing with the Disciples of Christ (or willing to seek standing), has previous service as a minister, is an engaging preacher, is Open and Affirming of people from different backgrounds, will develop strong relationships with members and friends of the congregation, will nurture the gifts and talents of congregation members, will be an advocate for the marginalized, and will provide strong pastoral care skills and deep empathy.
