Hanging of the Greens and Advent Kick-off

Join us on Sunday, December 3 for worship as we celebrate our annual Hanging of the Greens service.

Following worship, there will be a free pot luck luncheon in our fellowship hall – meat and drinks provided – please bring a dish to share with everyone.  This will be the start of our    Advent season, and we’ll have a short program to ring in the season with a good spirit.  In    addition to an Advent craft which both children and adults will enjoy, there will be a welcome to the season from ‘Biff’ Powell, ace reporter for the Bethlehem Times, who will be interviewing a particular family travelling to Bethlehem at this time of year.  Come join us for a good, grounded start to the Christmas season.  (And bring a pair of garden clippers with you, if you have them – to cut the boxwood which is part of the craft project.)

Sunday, December 3, immediately after worship, in Fellowship Hall.  Look forward to seeing you then and there!!  Please sign up on the registration sheets in the Gathering or in the church office.  If you cannot bring a dish, please come anyway:  we promise to have plenty to eat – you remember the miracle of the loaves and fishes!!

Journey to Bethlehem

Join us for Journey to Bethlehem on December 16th with tours beginning at 5:30 PM

All are Welcome!

If God is calling you this Christmas to serve, please consider serving in the many roles of Journey to Bethlehem, Christian Temple's beautiful retelling of the Christmas story.

Possible roles:

Actors: Actors will get their lines weeks before and should report on 12/16 at 4:30 for dinner, costume and rehearsal.  Tours start at 5:30  PM and last until 8:00 PM.

Stage Crew: Set up is Friday 12/15 (6-9PM) and Saturday 12/16  (11AM-2PM)  Tear down is 8PM until 11PM  on 12/16.  Volunteers are welcome any time during these hours, even if it just for a little while.

Costume manager: Costume manager should check on costumes as early as possible (week or 2 ahead to determine any repairs or needs).  This person will be needed for dressing in Saturday December 16 at 3:30 pm. The costumer would have a break until 8 pm- finish when they need to check costumes in and put them away/arrange for laundering.

Prop manager:  Assist Amy and Sonja the week before the event in finding and organizing the props for each scene.  Lists will be provided. This is very low stress, kinda like treasure hunting while creeping around basements and closets in the church!

Please contact Sonja Scott to volunteer as an actor or costume manager and Amy Luking to volunteer as a stage crew or prop manager.
