Education

We at Christian Temple invite you to join us every Sunday
morning for learning experiences designed for all ages. A
nursery attendant is present to watch those younger children  who might be accompanying their families to Sunday School.   Sunday School classes offer varied experiences for children  from 4 years of age through 5th grade centered on selected  Bible stories. Activities include games, singing, art, videos, and drama - all including thought provoking discussion. Older youth learn by teaching, assisted by adults in leading the class group, growing in understanding while helping children learn and play.

Bible based classes on varied topics are also offered for
middle school, high school students and adults. Come every week, or come when you can! Our caring teachers are waiting to welcome you.

Sunday Morning Schedule

9:00 Adult class begins

9:30  Youth and Adult Classes begin (until 10:15) ends May 22nd, resumes in September.

10:30 Morning Worship

CHILDREN AT WORSHIP

Children ages three through second grade may begin worship with their parents, and then have the choice of worshipping on their level with other kids. When the children leave the sanctuary after their time with Pastor Rick, they are coming to a new Children at Worship program. Although they do all the things they once did in C.A.W., the parts have been
rearranged to reflect the order in the "adult" worship service.

The tone we set is also much more worshipful than what we

aim for in Sunday School. The kids get used to a different

way of being together.  By bringing bible stories alive through

storytelling and other activities, you will hear great things

about "their" worship experience.

PRESCHOOL THROUGH 5th GRADE

Sure, we talk about Bible stories . . . but kids also learn
the lessons by doing lots of fun stuff like cooking, drama,
and singing; making crafts, playing games, watching videos.
Each theme gets four weeks of attention, and four different
activities designed to strengthen the story's meaning
and offer new perspectives.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL

Classes meet weekly with a variety of topical discussions
and Bible studies related to their everyday life.  Drama and
individual thoughts and opinions are welcomed and encou-

raged for their own personal understanding and growth.

YOUTH GROUP SUPER SUNDAYS &

SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE

You won't want to miss the continuing fun after worship, happening  twice a month!  Kids from 1st grade through high school enjoy group fellowship with their peers.  They eat, talk, play games, worship and perform charitable activities for the community.  No one is too young or too old to get in on the action with our youth!

SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE

Youth from 1st grade thru 12th grade will enjoy fellowship time with other kids their age, on Sunday at 5PM, resuming in September.  Many will see familiar faces, many will meet new friends, and all will have a great time!

All youth and adult leaders participating in Super Sunday are asked to make a donation to help reimburse the luncheon costs; $3 for Sparklers/JYF and $4 for Chi-Rho/CYF/Adult Leaders.

ADULTS  (September through May)

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

On February 12th, the 9:00AM Adult Sunday School class will feature Brandon Gilvin from Week of Compassion. Sherry Welch’s class Ten Things Christians Do Need to Believe, will conclude the following Sunday, the19th.

What’s the Least I Can Believe and Still Be A Christian? That will be the question we will try to answer in Adult Sunday School, beginning January 8 and ending February 19.  Using the book written by Martin Thielen, a Methodist pastor in Tennessee, first the group will address The Ten Things Christians Don’t Need to Believe, including Good Christians Don’t Doubt and It’s OK for Christians to be Judgmental and Obnoxious. Then we will focus on Ten Things Christians Do Need to Believe, including such provocative questions as Jesus’ Example: What Brings Fulfillment? And Jesus’ Legacy: Is the Church Still Relevant?

Classes begin at 9AM and will be led by Sherry Welch.  Please bring an open mind, a sense of humor, and a willingness to share. We’ll provide the rest.
