WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY BEGINS ANEW! Wednesday Bible Study began a new series on January 4th. This is a 12-session DVD based small group exploration of Jesus. It features 27 leading theologians, including some of our favorites - Marcus Borg, John Crossan, Amy Jill Levine, and John Spong. The series includes some handout material, which we will duplicate for you. Based on past experience, we should have lively and thoughtful discussions. Come meet with us on Wednesday mornings, 9:30 to 11, in the Library. Contact Marie Racz with questions at mracz2@verizon.net or 410-439-0624.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL On February 12th, the 9:00AM Adult Sunday School class will feature Brandon Gilvin from Week of Compassion. Sherry Welch’s class Ten Things Christians Do Need to Believe, will conclude the following Sunday, the19th.
What’s the Least I Can Believe and Still Be A Christian? That will be the question we will try to answer in Adult Sunday School, beginning January 8 and ending February 19. Using the book written by Martin Thielen, a Methodist pastor in Tennessee, first the group will address The Ten Things Christians Don’t Need to Believe, including Good Christians Don’t Doubt and It’s OK for Christians to be Judgmental and Obnoxious. Then we will focus on Ten Things Christians Do Need to Believe, including such provocative questions as Jesus’ Example: What Brings Fulfillment? And Jesus’ Legacy: Is the Church Still Relevant? Classes begin at 9AM and will be led by Sherry Welch. Please bring an open mind, a sense of humor, and a willingness to share. We’ll provide the rest.
